Miss Ranu Maria will be the title of the movie, Earlier Sudipta Chakraborty was supposed to play the role of Ranu.
Ranu Mandal became an overnight star only after a video went viral in the year 2019. Ranu, who was struggling for bread for two times in West Bengal, got such fame from her melodious voice that she was called in the singing reality show Superstar Singer. Here Himesh Reshammiya offered his song Teri Meri. This song was very much in the headlines, However, Ranu’s stardom did not last long and she again got away from the limelight. Now preparations are on to make a biopic on Ranu Mandal, which will be directed by Hrishikesh Mandal. According to the director, it was very difficult to find an actress to play the lead role in Ranu’s biopic, because everyone is feeling disrespected for playing her role.
Recently, in a conversation with Indian Express, Hrishikesh Mandal has told that Ranu faced many difficulties in the casting of the film. Earlier this role was offered to Sudipta Chakraborty who has won the Best Supporting Actress Award for the film Barivali. Sudipta was interesting to do the role, however she could not come onboard due to her previous commitments.
The director further said in the conversation without naming any actor that many actors were offered for the role of Ranu, although many people were feeling insulted in playing her.
