Q&A with Oman Cricketer Kashyap Prajapati – #BtimesQ&A
Kashyap Prajapati is an Indian-born cricketer who plays for the Oman cricket team. In September 2021, he was named in Oman’s One Day International squad for round seven of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2. He made his ODI debut on 26 September 2021. Who you are actually, What is cricket for you?
Myself kashyap Prajapati born and brought up in India and right now playing as an opening batsmen for Oman national team, I have reached here because of my passion for cricket, , What i believe is that it has given me real life lessons ,taught me the sportsmen’s ship, that how to balance in between good and bad times how to remain on feet’s while performing high during matches and to stay consistent with my practice and how to stay calm and focused during low scores. Cricket has made me a really tough man.
One of your special childhood memories of playing cricket ?
of course there are lot of memories ,but one of my favorite was that.. when I was 14 years old was playing with my friends there was an aunt residing near our playing ground.. she had took almost 10 balls and was not giving it back ,so to take balls back ,i picked her son’s cycle and demanded my balls or else she had to loose cycle.
Who is your role model in cricket and why?
My role model is Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli because Yuvraj Singh has taught me how to fight on and off the field and Virat Kohli has taught me how to balance patience with aggression and talk with my bat.
Your Memorable Inning ?
I would like to talk about latest world cup qualifiers 2023 against Zimbabwe 103 and against Mumbai Ranji trophy team 145 .
Your experience in 2023 world cup qualifiers ?
I got my recent experience in 2023 world cup qualifiers .. in that cricket is not only about skills you need mental strength too. Also i have learned how to remain one step ahead of your opponent team, how to be prepared and read the next ball or situation.
What advice would you give to young cricketers ?
I would like to advise the young upcoming cricketers that i you guys have even 1% doubt regarding your choice your ability about cricket then don’t go for it. Because cricket is 90% struggle and only 10 % success and this 10% success is more than any happiness in the world.
