Actor Kunal Kapoor has been writing stories ever since he started working as an assistant director. Kunal had been dreaming since that time that one day he would definitely become a filmmaker. The ‘Rang De Basanti’ actor has finally decided to turn producer. Kunal is coming up with a biopic film on India’s Winter Olympian Shiva Keshavan. Kunal himself has given this information in a recent interview in of media house, and has also shared many things related to this biopic film.
This is the best time to be a storyteller Kunal Kapoor said, “I think this is the best time to be a storyteller. When I was starting out, a certain kind of cinema was being made. Movies used to fit the same mold, which is now It’s broken. Viewers are exposed to so much content from around the world that they’re drawn to different stories and new ways of storytelling. And you have a whole new breed of technicians who think this way handjob, Which is original and unique. It is exciting that now so many films are being made, which are rooted in India. Movies are now being made about stories from small towns, about unsung heroes and the history of our country.”
Opportunity to bring to life your own vision as a producer : Kunal further added, “I have been writing stories since my days as an assistant director. And I would love to bring those stories to life not only as an actor but also as a producer and director. As an actor You have very little control over what stories you get to tell. You can only choose what is offered to you and you are part of someone else’s vision. But as a producer you have a chance to bring your own vision to life.”
Shiva Keshavan represented the country in six Winter Olympics :The actor has decided to make a biopic of Shiv Keshavan, considered India’s greatest Winter Olympian, who has always displayed his determination to give back to the sport of luge and develop winter sports in the country. Called India’s fastest man on the ice, he represented the country in six consecutive Winter Olympics and was its lone representative during the 1998 and 2002 Games.
Shiv Keshavan is an amazing athlete, Kunal Kapoor said, “Shiva Keshavan is an amazing athlete. What attracted me to Shiv Keshavan was not only that he has represented India in the Olympics six times, but it was also about the spirit of India and the incredible things he did. It was a story of what we manage to achieve with limited resources. It is a story of resilience. It is also a celebration of our culture and diversity.”
