Babar Azam steps down from captaincy in all 3 formats!!
Babar Azam announced his resignation as the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team in all formats after a disappointing World Cup campaign. The decision came after criticism mounted against Babar following Pakistan’s poor performance in the Asia Cup and the subsequent World Cup, where they failed to reach the semi-finals.
Babar made the announcement after meeting with PCB Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, where he reportedly declined an offer to continue as the Test team’s captain.
Babar Azam posted on X “”Today, I am stepping down as the captain of Pakistan in all formats. It’s a difficult decision but I feel it is a right time for this call. I will continue to represent Pakistan as a player in all three formats.” Babar Azam on X
