Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer “Chehre” to release in August?

With an ensemble cast comprising of bigwigs like Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, Raghubir Yadav, Rhea Chakraborty and others, Chehre was always poised for a theatrical release. With the pandemic halting and delaying the film’s release to further dates, the makers put the film on hold instead of opting for an OTT release. Now it looks like the wait has paid off.

“The team was actually initially looking forward to an April release, but then it was fixed for August. Now, the buzz is in favor of a release on August 27 or September 3. Due to the work and time that has gone into the film. As a result a film has been made. The makers are confident that an official statement will be released soon”, says a source close to a second trailer.

Anand Pandit produced the venture, which recently sent fans into a frenzy, after Amitabh Bachchan recited a poem penned by the film’s director Rumi Jaffrey. The poem will be set to the tune by Vishal and Shekhar, who recorded an orchestral rendition of the same with 107 musicians in Prague this April. Chehre is the second major film to get theatrical release this year, the first being Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom, which hits theaters on August 19. The Mega Trailer Launch in Delhi for Bell Bottom grabbed everyone’s attention and garnered a positive response from the audience. As of now, we are waiting for the final announcement from the Chehre team, for a locked release date.
